The state PIRGs -- The state PIRGs are independent, state-based advocates for the public interest. Using the time-tested tools of investigative research, media exposés, grassroots organizing, advocacy, and litigation, the state PIRGs uncover threats to the public interest and fight to end them. The state PIRGs' mission is to deliver persistent, result-oriented activism that protects the environment, encourages a fair, sustainable economy, and fosters responsive, democratic government.
Scorecard.org -- Administered by Environmental Defense, Scorecard.org gives citizens quick and easy access to information about toxic pollution in their communities. Visitors to the site can view Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) data by state, zip code or facility. The site also includes detailed information on the health effects of the chemicals tracked by TRI.
Title V.org -- Run by the NY PIRG Clean Air Enforcement Project, this site is "dedicated to providing air quality advocates with the information they need to make sure that polluters in their community can be held accountable for Clean Air Act violations." It includes a handbook, facility specifics, lawsuits and decisions
